ASPBAE actively engaged in the processes leading to and in the main discussions of the 12th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD), highlighting the interlinkages of SDG 4 with the SDGs under review. Organized from 25 to 28 February 2025 by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) at the UN Conference Center (UNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand, the 12th APFSD focused on the theme of “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for leaving no one behind in Asia and the Pacific.”

Youth across the Asia Pacific region gathered in Bangkok, Thailand and online on 19-21 February 2025 for the “Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) Youth Forum.”

Around a hundred and thirty representatives of civil society organizations (CSOs), including ASPBAE, and peoples’ movements from Asia-Pacific attended the opening of the two-day Asia Pacific Peoples’ Forum on Sustainable Development (Peoples’ Forum) in Bangkok, Thailand on 23-24 February.

ASPBAE’s Research and Advocacy Officer, Lae Santiago, was among the speakers in the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) Virtual Side Event.

The regional meeting, held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, brought together coalitions face-to-face for the first time since 2019 to share experiences in advocating for improved education policy and budget outcomes to advance SDG4 and the right to education.

Civil society organisations from the region met virtually for an ASPBAE workshop looking at disability-inclusive education from a rights-based perspective, expanding capacities, and strengthening related education policy.
