Through its partnerships, ASPBAE aims to ensure that proper mechanisms are in place to secure the right of all to quality education and learning opportunities.ASPBAE forges partnerships with organizations and institutions committed to promoting the right to basic and adult education and learning, gender justice, equity, and peace.
It works primarily with and through its member organisations - NGOs, community and people's organizations, national education campaign coalitions, popular education organisation, education research and resource centres and other civil society groups and institutions - operating in around 30 countries in the Asia South Pacific region.
ASPBAE has a long standing association with DVV International, Germany - its supporter and partner in international cooperation on adult education and learning for more than 25 years. ASPBAE is a founding member of the International Council for Adult Education (ICAE), a global network of regional and national associations promoting the right of all to learn throughout life.
It partners with civil society networks and movements for policy change in Education For All and poverty eradication such as with the Global Campaign for Education (GCE), a movement to end the worldwide crisis in education. ASPBAE is a part of the Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP), a global alliance made up of national campaign coalitions to end poverty. It has forged new partnerships for education with various international agencies, foundations and institutions, notably with the Open Society Institute, the Commonwealth Foundation, the Myer Foundation (Australia), and the Asia Cultural Centre for UNESCO.
ASPBAE is an 'NGO in Operational Relations' with UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization) and is on a Roster Status with UN ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council). It works closely with several UN agencies such as with UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund), the UNESCO offices in Paris and Bangkok, and with the UNESCO Institute of Lifelong Learning in Hamburg.
ASPBAE continues to work closely with its member organisations, national education coalitions, teachers' unions, youth and parent groups to build champions for education for all.
